Sam Enjoy’s A French Friend
…by bringing back one of my favorite builds. An old french road bike frame and fork salvaged from someone’s garage thanks to craigslist. Sandblasted and painted with some good ole Montana in electric blue and white.
Set out to build this one up cheap, but had to shell out for a Phil Wood french threaded BB after spending months looking for a vintage piece. Put on some Soma Hellyer Cranks, MKS pedals, original Stronglight headset, a vintage 3ttt Stem polished up real nice, and Soma Major Taylor bars. Saved a bit on the wheels going with Formula hubs and some white deep V’s.
Whats the lesson learned? old French bikes may not be worth the trouble.

I gazed lovingly at every single picture. While that bike is very pretty, a build its owner is rightfully proud of, Sam’s beautiful legs were more than a bit of a distraction. The rest of her is simply incredible too. This lad would indeed make passes at a girl who wears glasses.
